RMCH has made it through to the finals of the PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year 2012 award

The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital has made it through to the finals of the PharmaTimes Clinical Researcher of the Year 2012 award.

The entry for RMCH has been co-ordinated by the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria Medicines for Children Research Network (GMLC MCRN), with a number of network and RMCH staff involved in the initial stages of the competition. Carol Beane, Senior MCRN Research Nurse sat and passed the Good Clinical Practice test that enabled entry into the second stage. This stage involved assessing the feasibility of a portfolio of theoretical diabetes studies.

A team was formed to meet this challenge consiting of GMLC MCRN staff Jess Nichols, Laura Crowther and Sarah Rickard expertly aided by Dr Sarah Ehtisham. Having successful passed this part of the competition a small team will go to the finals night on the 29th November in Marlow to compete in the last element of the event. If successful, the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital will be awarded "Research Site of the Year 2012" a fitting tribute to the important research work that the hospital supports and develops.
