Biography

Initial career in electronics. Trained in medicine as mature student at Southampton University (BM 1992). Specialist training 1997-2001 in PICU at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London and at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia (2000-2001). Founding consultant of Children’s Acute Transport Service, London. Joined Manchester PICU team in 2002. Vice President of Paediatric Intensive Care Society, Chair of the paediatric Making it Safer Together Collaborative (MiST), Chair and Editor of Advanced Life Support Group – Paediatric and Neonatal Safe Transport and Retrieval Course (PaNSTaR) & ALSG Human Factors Group. Special interests in Resuscitation, Medical Education and Medical Ethics (MA Keele 2004)
