Biography

Peter Clayton is Professor of Child Health and Paediatric Endocrinology in the Faculty of Medical & Human Sciences at the University of Manchester. He is an honorary consultant at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and at the Christie (Cancer) Hospital. He trained in Manchester and the USA, and took up his consultant appointment in 1994. His research is centred on understanding mechanisms leading to disordered growth and development. He has ~200 publications on clinical and basic science aspects of paediatric endocrinology. He has served on the editorial boards of a number of endocrine journals, and on committees and councils of UK and European endocrine societies.
