Occupational Therapy

Service Description

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps acutely ill or injured children to regain lost skills and learn new ones so they can participate in everyday activities to their full potential. OT focuses on encouraging children's self-care and developing classroom and play/leisure skills from a family-centred perspective. The service covers most specialties across the children's hospital. It provides assessment and rehabilitation, prescribes equipment and environmental adaptations and helps prepare children and young people for discharge from hospital.
