Service Description

The Orthotic Service provides assessment, prescription and fitting of orthotic devices. The term 'orthoses' refers to a wide range of devices such as orthopaedic footwear, insoles, callipers, splints, fabric supports and collars, which  are applied externally to a part of the body to achieve one or more of the following:

  • correction or prevention of a physical deformity
  • stabilisation of a joint or joints
  • reduction of pain
  • improvement in mobility or function
  • reduction in the risk of injury

Our Orthotist has extensive knowledge of all types of orthoses.  We can provide them made to measure or off the shelf and adjustments can sometimes be made while you wait.
