Trained at the University of Manchester gaining an intercalated degree in Medical Biochemistry (1991) and qualifying in 1994. House Jobs at Royal Preston Hospital and at MRI. Then worked in Wythenshawe, Liverpool, Chester , Stockport and the North East of England before returning to Manchester to complete specialist registrar training. Appointed Consultant Paediatrician 2008.
MA Dissertation (University of Salford, 2010) “Children, Parents, Doctors and the Law – Who Decides” examined some of the legal and ethical issues surrounding decision making about the medical treatment of children.
