School Health Service

We provide a first point of contact for children, young people and parents or carers needing health advice or information.

We support children and young people with identified health needs including complex learning and/or physical health needs.

We initiate and support activities for promoting health (includes sex and relationships, healthy weight, smoking cessation, drugs and alcohol, behaviour management, safety and bullying) in school and across communities.

In line with the Department of Health schedule we support the immunisation team to deliver immunisations.

We work with colleagues from the Emotional Health in Schools service (Camhs) to assess and support children and young people with mental health needs.

We work in partnership to safeguard children and young people.
