ELFS Project Overview

Accidental injury is the leading cause of death among children and young people and puts more children in hospital than any other cause.

ELFS was developed locally in 2002.  It's overall objective is to reduce the number of children that are killed or seriously injured as a result of accidental injury.  It aims to do this by raising awareness of the most prevalent causes of accidental injury in 3 to 5 year olds.

ELFS project

ELFS is funded by Public Health Manchester.  As a result delivery is currently restricted to 3 to 5 year olds in MCC children's centres and schools.*

*Organisations in Bradford, Nottingham, Oxford & Sandwell deliver some aspects of ELFS.   Please contact Manchester ELFS if you require contact details in any of these areas.
