CMFT offers a generic preceptorship programme providing support and guidance for newly registered healthcare practitioners facilitating the transition from student to practitioner. The preceptorship programme comprises of three main components: Induction and orientation to the Trust and clinical area. A preceptor will support the preceptee in the clinical area with development of professional skills and acquisition of new skills. This is achieved through a variety of learning methods integrated into a series of study sessions, preceptee induction, customer service, work life balance and teamwork and also practice and a professional development E-learning package.
