A preceptor is a registered professional practitioner with at least twelve months experience within the same area of practice as the preceptee. The minimum requirement is that you are a Band 5 with 12 months post-qualifying experience. The role involves offering guidance, support and supervision to the newly registered practitioner. The preceptor will identify potential learning opportunities for the new staff member. Prospective preceptors will be determined locally by managers.

Your input in supporting our new practitioners is invaluable and we hope you will enjoy this challenging and rewarding experience. There is a training day available to support the preceptor role. This can be booked by your line manager. The preceptorship team are also on hand to offer advice and support to preceptors.

Please click here for the preceptor nomination form.

You will receive confirmation of your place via your CMFT email.

NB: if you are unable to attend an existing booking it is imperative that you inform your line manager immediately to enable another member of staff to utilise the training, places are limited.
