Student Induction/Orientation

On behalf of the Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) Team, welcome to Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).  As a student we hope that you enjoy your time within the Trust and that your experiences provide you with valuable learning opportunities. Along with your mentor/clinical/practice educator we are here to ensure you have an outstanding clinical placement experience. The diagram below demonstrates some of the ways we can do this:

Maximising your student experience within MFT

Orientation to Practice Session

MFT provide a orientation to practice session for 2nd and 3rd year students of any profession who are returning to MFT on placement and require an induction to the Trust or a refresher induction.  Contact your PEF for dates.

Car Parking

Applications for car parking permits are now completed on-line.

For students on placement at MFT: if you are experiencing any delays in receiving the email notification that your car parking permit application has been approved, please contact the PEF team, Pef.team@mft.nhs.uk, 0161 276 4870.

For students who have a Trafford car parking pass and need to access parking on central site for training purposes, you will need to contact the car parking office for a Close To Site Day Parking Permission Form.

We are working closely with the car parking department to resolve any delays/ issues.

ID Badges

ID badge forms can be signed by the Practice Education Facilitators. Please bring completed form to the Old Physiotherapy Annex, Nelson Street, Central Site.

Fire Lectures

All students on placement at MFT must attend a Fire Lecture every 12 months.

Placement Charter
