Student Quality Ambassadors

The Student Quality Ambassador (SQA) Project was launched by Health Education North West (HENW) in 2011. Since then, there has been 2 more phases recruiting student nurses, student midwives and student allied health professionals.

The primary role of the SQA is to highlight and share best practice. They are expected to be able to challenge standards of care within the placement area and suggest areas of improvement.

SQA's use quality measurement tools such as the 15 Step Matrix, acting as a 'fresh pair of eyes' in a placement area in order to feedback and enhance current practice.

SQA's are required to attend various development days throughout their placement, these hours will be included in their practice hours.

If you are a Student Quality Ambassador coming on a placement in the Trust, or a mentor who wants to find out more about what the SQA role entails your Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) point of contact is Tracy Claydon.

She can be contacted on 0161 901 1854 or via email: Tracy.claydon@cmft.nhs.uk
