Being a member of a Foundation Trust means that you can have a real say, through your elected representatives, in shaping future services and strategic planning.
You decide how involved you want to be - you may simply want to receive a newsletter about the Trust's activities or you may want to stand for election to the Council of Governors, which works with the Board of Directors.
If you, your family, friends or colleagues are interested in membership, please contact the Foundation Trust office on (0161) 276 8661 for an application form, or go to the NHS Foundation Trust website to join online.
We hope that everyone who is, or has been, linked with our Trust in some way, and members of our local community would like to join our NHS Foundation Trust. Public membership is open to anyone aged 11 and over who lives in England and Wales. This includes local residents, patients, carers and volunteers.
All staff become members automatically, subject to certain eligibility conditions. However, staff are free to 'opt out' if they prefer.
Our
Trust has an excellent reputation for treating children and young
people from across Manchester and beyond. It is important to us
that they have a voice in the way the services they use are run and
developed. Anyone aged 11 or over can become a member of the
Foundation Trust. All they need to do is complete a membership
application form, with the permission of their parents or
guardians. We also have a Youth Governor (aged 16 - 21 years) on
our Council of Governors, nominated from our Youth Forum.
The Governors act as your voice. If you wish to raise an issue or have any ideas or suggestions, please contact your Governor.
You need to contact the Public, Staff or Nominated Governor who
represents your particular constituency. Our FT Membership Office
can help with identifying the appropriate person. You can then
e-mail the Governor, using the address given in the Meet the Governors section, or, write to them
care of our FT Membership office. E-mail them at ft.enquiries@cmft.nhs.uk
The relevant Governor will raise your concern or share your ideas
at the next Council of Governors meeting, and come back to
you with a response.
