Clinical Biochemistry is the study of the chemical and biochemical processes of the body in their relation to disease. This is a laboratory based service which exists to assist clinicians in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
The Department of Clinical Biochemistry provides a comprehensive analytical and consultant advisory service to the hospitals of the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and to General Practitioners, and holds Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA).
