Clinical advice and full interpretive service

Laboratory Medicine at Central Manchester University Hospitals provides a full interpretive service, with expert advice available from each of our laboratory departments.

Biochemistry

Clinical advice is available at all times. The duty biochemist is one of the Clinical Scientists or medical staff. They participate in a rota and will assist and advise on problems involving the biochemical investigation of patients and the interpretation of results. Full details

Cytology

Staff are available to give advice and answer queries during normal working hours. Full details

Haematology

Expert clinical and scientific advice is available on the investigation of haematological disorders, the interpretation of test results, and on any further investigations which may be required. Full details

Histopathology

The pathologists and technical staff are available by phone, e-mail or in person in the laboratory to give clinical or technical advice. Full details

Immunology

GMIS provides interpretative comments added to reports; for all queries or doubts please speak to the laboratory. Clinical advice on test and results is available on weekdays. Full details
