Hospital Transfusion Committee

The Hospital Transfusion Committee (HTC) enables all clinical users to have an input into the transfusion service through clinical representation.

This process ensures that communication of change, development or alteration of service provision takes into account the clinical user groups' opinions and needs and any Clinical Governance directives.

The Hospital Transfusion Team and HTC are corporate components of the Transfusion Service and as such report to the Trust Corporate Management teams. Part of the responsibility of the HTC is the ratification of guidelines and policies prior to dissemination to the clinical teams.

The HTC meets on a regular basis and then feeds back to divisional clinical users with any service developments or changes which the Transfusion Service has introduced or developed.
