The coagulation laboratory is divided into routine and specialised coagulation and is housed within Autolab, in the Clinical Sciences Centre.

Samples requiring routine coagulation studies, such as INR testing for oral anticoagulant monitoring, are received from across the Central Manchester University Hospitals site.

We also offer full and comprehensive specialist testing for a number of coagulation disorders. These include bleeding disorder diagnosis, eg haemophilia, thrombotic tendency diagnosis, lupus anticoagulant investigation and full platelet aggregation studies.

The specialised coagulation service is available to other hospitals in the North West.
