Immunoglobulin D, IgD

General information

Measurement of serum IgD can aid in the diagnosis of Hyper IgD Syndrome (HIDS) and IgD myeloma.

Specimen transport: At room temperature

Repeat frequency: At significant change of clinical symptoms

Special precautions: IgD has a relatively short half life.

Samples should arrive in the lab within 24 hours or stored at 4°C if there is a delay in transport.
