Autoantibodies to the ovary may interfere with fertility by masking functional proteins on the cell surface of ovarian cells or interfering with intracellular protein functions.

Clinical information

Indications for the test: Suspected premature ovarian failure (15-50% of patients have positive antibodies)

Factors affecting the test: Patients may also have adrenal and thyroid antibodies
