Dried blood spot analysis

Dried blood spot analysis is a technique which allows a test to be performed on a sample obtained by a simple finger prick. The service is designed for those patients from whom it is difficult to obtain venous blood, especially for intra venous drug users. (Please note that a different technique is used to obtain dried blood spot samples for newborn screening)
