Assay interference and generation of anomalous results can occur when a patients' sample contains:

  • Heterophile antibodies
  • Animal serum products (from routine exposure to animals)
  • Human mouse monoclonal antibodies (patients who receive preparations of mouse monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis or therapy)
