Located in Phase 2 Theatres and Critical Care Laboratory, Manchester Royal Infirmary

The Haemoscope TEG 5000 is used to assess blood coagulation and facilitate treatment decisions regarding blood transfusions.

Electronic quality control tests are performed on the system every day before they are used for patient testing. The service is also registered in a national external quality assurance scheme.
