Britain’s Got Talent stars Ashleigh & Pudsey bring Starlight’s Christmas Panto to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

Christmas can be a particularly gloomy time for poorly children undergoing treatment in hospital but a visit from Britain's Got Talent stars and Starlight's Christmas Panto will soon bring a dose of festive fun and laughter to the young patients at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

Christmas came early in the Teen Zone at the hospital with a visit from Ashleigh & Pudsey, the world famous duo who won Britain's Got Talent in 2012 and will shortly be starring as Alice Fitzwarren and her faithful dog in Dick Whittington at Manchester's Opera House this Christmas.

The visit was arranged by Starlight, which is a national charity that provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices and grants wishes for seriously and terminally ill children.  It coincided with the arrival of Starlight's Christmas Panto at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and together Ashleigh and Pudsey and Starlight's interactive performance of Sleeping Beauty will bring lots of smiles to young patients there.

Therapeutic and Specialised Play Service Manager Susan Fairclough said: "Every year we look forward to the arrival of Starlight's panto and the entertainment and distraction it brings with it and is always a great dose of fun for our young patients! We have the added bonus of some entertainment from Ashleigh and Pudsey and are so grateful to those who give up their time to come and spread some season cheer for our patients and their families."

During the visit, the panto's four actors dances, dazzled and sang for the young patients, their families and the staff.  Ashleigh and Pudsey then joined the cast at the end of the performance to present some of the dances and tricks that won the nation's hearts during Britain's Got Talent 2012.  Ashleigh and Pudsey and the Starlight Christmas Panto cast then visited children and their families in some of the hospital's wards.
