Celebrating NHS Change Day – 19th October

changedayDon't miss our Fabulous Change Day on Wednesday 19th October which promises to be an exciting event showcasing the wide range of innovation, transformation and improvement projects underway across the Trust.  The event is open to all staff, patients and visitors.

As a leading provider of healthcare, we are using this year's national NHS Change Day as an opportunity to demonstrate CMFT's commitment to innovation, transformation and improvement.

All staff are invited along to find out more about the work underway and to make their own personal commitment to change.  The event provides an ideal platform for staff to share good practice, network with colleagues, and learn from projects in other parts of the organisation.

The event will highlight the many projects across the Trust that aim to transform and improve the way we provide patient care - click here to see the map of themes across the hospitals.

The main themes of the key projects and developments that will be featured on the day are as follows:

  • Children's services - RMCH atrium
  • Dental services - Dental Hospital atrium
  • Discharge - MRI (Outpatient entrance)
  • Length of stay - MRI atrium (new MRI entrance)
  • Outpatients/virtual clinics - MREH atrium
  • Quality of care/patient experience - Saint Mary's atrium
  • Theatre/elective pathways - Saint Mary's atrium
  • Trafford projects - Trafford boardroom/restaurant/outpatients & ground floor, Altrincham Hospital

A number of companies will be attending the event to showcase innovative products or services which relate to the main themes.

The main activity on the day will take place from 11am - 2pm although information about the transformation projects will remain in place until the end of the week.  Please note that projects are not necessarily limited to the location where they are being showcased.

Our online Pledge Tree is now ready for staff to make their pledges either before or on 19th October.  A physical pledge tree will also be available in each atrium for staff and patients to contribute by completing a leaf shaped post-it note and adding it to the tree on the day.

Randomised Coffee Trails (RCTs) will be promoted on the day - flyers will be given out in and there will be a signing in sheet for people who might be interested in setting up a trial.

NHS Change Day started in 2013 as a day of collective action for improvement.  It was driven by a small group of emerging clinicians and improvement leaders.  Their idea was to create a mass movement of NHS staff demonstrating the difference they can make by one simple act, proving that large-scale improvement is possible.  NHS Change Day is founded on staff pledging to make improvements.
