Corrie star Jennie McAlpine visits Children's Hospital

Actress Jennie McAlpine came to visit Royal Manchester Children's Hospital recently, to meet some of our young patients on Ward 84. Ward 84 is our specialist childhood cancer ward, and Jennie came along as a guest of Royal Manchester Children's Charity to find out more about the types of cancers we treat here.

This reason for this visit, is that her Coronation Street character Fiz Brown is about to receive shocking news about her five-year-old daughter Hope. She has already been through the trauma of discovering her first baby was born with a hole in her heart, but now Hope faces another crisis as she is diagnosed with a highly aggressive cancer.

Jennie was on This Morning today with Holly and Phil to discuss her experience at our Hospital, and chat about the impact the storyline has had on her.
