Eid celebrations at RMCH

eid celebrationsThere were lots of happy faces last week at RMCH. As part of Eid celebrations, which marked the end of Ramadan, a local mosque donated presents for all the children.

Al Furqaan mosque have been donating gifts for the last three years, but this year managed to receive enough donations to buy presents for children on all the wards.

One of the mosque members said, "Eid is a time to celebrate and show kindness to all people. To bring a smile on a child's face, when they are not the feeling at their best, is priceless".

Divisional Director Sue Lunt and Sue Fairclough, Head of Play services, supported the donations and were very grateful for the kind gesture. Councillor Rabnawaz Akbar, Assistant Executive Member & Labour Member for Rusholme, also attended alongside the mosque to present gifts to the children.

Sue Lunt said: "This was a lovely gesture from our local mosque and the children were delighted with their gifts.   At this time,  when across the world we see so much hurt and violence, this kindness is so much appreciated by all staff within RMCH."
