Faces of Ward 84. Meet the children and young people of RMCH's Oncology and Haematology ward, and read their amazing stories...

Faces
of Ward 84 is a page set up by parents and relatives of
patients to give an insight in to life for children with cancer.
This is what they say...
"Here on our Faces
of Ward 84 Page we are letting you in to our world; we are
sharing with you our stories, and giving you unique insight into
the signs and symptoms of childhood cancers and other serious blood
conditions - straight from the people who have experienced
it.
We are hoping that this will
help raise awareness in parents, and ultimately lead to quicker
diagnosis in future. The purpose of
this is not to frighten people - childhood cancer is still rare;
around 1600 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK each
year.
However - this is one ward, in one
hospital, in one city. These are real people, and this is a real
issue.
Some of these children may look different
now; their hair may have grown back due to less invasive treatment,
but their battle goes on. These secret superheros are the children
on the swings at the park, these heroic parents are in the queue at
the Supermarket.
We are hoping that you will
look in our FACES OF WARD 84 ALBUM, read our stories, then
be inspired to make a difference. This could be a decision to give
blood, volunteer your time or donate money, to name a few. In the
NOTES section you will find details about ways in which we feel
you could make this difference. We would love for you to share with
us what we inspired you to do!"
