Healthcare Science Week

Healthcare scientists are at the cutting edge of medicine, researching and developing new treatments and equipment which cover a broad range of up to 52 professions.

Our Healthcare science staff are today celebrating their part in National Healthcare Science and Engineering Week, by hosting an event for local schools. Children will have the chance to join in our interactive sessions and bite size lecture, meet our enthusiastic healthcare scientists from across all disciplines, and ask many questions.

We have healthcare scientists in the following categories:

  • Life sciences involve the study of illness and disease, genetics and embryology.
  • Physiological sciences are all about the study of the body and organs.
  • Clinical engineering and physical sciences focus on developing techniques, diagnosis and monitoring patients

The pupils will have the chance to hear talks on stem cell revolution, genetics, and antimatter machines.

Healthcare Science Week is a fantastic way to inform the locality about the work of the healthcare science community and the vital role they play in patient care and treatment.
