Helen Farrington named ‘Deputy HR Director of the Year 2017’

helen farringtonCongratulations to Helen Farrington, named Deputy HR Director of the Year at this year's HPMA Excellence Awards.

Helen was named winner at the ceremony held by the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) which recognises and rewards outstanding work in healthcare human resource management and is entered by professionals across the UK.

The awards panel noted Helen's contribution to staff engagement during the trust's period of internal turnaround and the development of an engagement and improvement programme which has led to hundreds of staff across divisions developing improvement initiatives. So far, these improvements have resulted in savings and additional income of over £38 million for the trust.

Margot Johnson, Executive Director of HR, said in her nomination: "Helen has a wealth of Organisational Development (OD) experience but also has that rare quality of being able to apply proven theory in the workplace. Instead of OD being a vague subject, she inspires her colleagues to be genuinely excited about the benefits effective application can bring to their teams and the wider organisation."

Congratulations are also in order for our Workforce Planning team, who were shortlisted in the 'NHS Digital award for HR Analytics' for their Electronic Workforce Intelligence Portal.
