Join the conversation about Trafford’s new health deal

Health chiefs in Trafford are calling on residents to join the conversation and share their views about the redesign of health and social care services in the borough.

The 'new health deal' aims to secure safe and sustainable hospital services in Trafford. Now local people's views on how this should be done are being sought.

An online survey that allows people to share their experiences of services and outline their priorities for the redesign is now live and follows a number of public listening events that were held in December.

Mike Barker, NHS Trafford's director of corporate affairs, said: "Clinicians have started to discuss how clinical services should be organised for the future. We want local opinions to remain at the heart of these discussions, which is why we want to hear from the public about their priorities for services in the borough."

The redesign work is being driven by three principles - to provide the right care, at the right time, in the right place; to secure cost effective services; and to ensure that services are designed to the highest clinical standards.

Health chiefs also want to develop an integrated system of healthcare across hospitals, GPs and community based care providers that is financially stable by enabling more people to be treated closer to home, whilst also improving quality and outcomes for patients.

The survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/newhealthdeal. Alternatively, you can request that a paper copy is sent to you by calling NHS Trafford on 0161 873 6008.  The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 17 February 2012.
