MREH 200 - celebrating 200 years of excellence

MREH 200

Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is 200 years old this year and we are celebrating this landmark achievement throughout the year.

Later in the spring, a new exhibition about the hospital and the changing nature of diagnosing and treating eye conditions will open in the atrium.  Kindly sponsored by Bruntwood, the free exhibition is open to staff, patients and the public.  Art and music activities will also be taking place in the atrium during the year.

From 24th -27th June, over 100 leading UK and international experts will be speaking at the MREH200 bicentenary academic conference in Manchester.  Registration details and the conference programme can be found on the MREH200 website: www.mreh200.org.uk

On 21st October - the anniversary day itself - we will be holding an open day followed by a staff event in the evening. During the open day there will be - tours of the hospital, displays from a variety of departments, visits to the Ocular Prosthetics Department where they make false eyes and a chance to learn more about your eyes with eye tests, images of the back of your eye and looking at layers of your eye.
