Now recruiting: Volunteers for Trafford General Hospital

traffordcompWould you like to help our patients, acquire some new skills, and give something back to the community?

If you do, we would like to hear from you.  We will provide you with the necessary training to become a hospital volunteer at Trafford General Hospital. You will be able to help provide patients with a more positive experience for patients while they are in our care.

Our hospital volunteers carry out important work including:

  • Helping patients to rehabilitate by encouraging them to get involved with activities
  • Providing hand rub therapy, a gentle and relaxing hand massage
  • Reading papers/poetry with our long stay patients who are feeling homesick
  • Meeting and greeting our patients, carers and visitors, and taking them to their destination.

You may have seen our volunteers out and about in our hospitals:  they wear red polo shirts and a smile!
