Our teams 'Transform Together' and fly the flag for innovation

Yesterday, we held a 'Transform Together' event which showcased all the hard work of our teams who have developed innovative projects to improve care for our patients. Over 140 staff came together to share ideas and spread best practice in innovation. Tweets for #transformtogether reached 109,463 accounts and generated 100 tweets from 31 contributors. @CMFTNHS was the tag that generated the most impressions with 207,000 impressions made.

Chairman Kathy Cowell welcomed everyone to the event, reinforcing the importance of engaging frontline staff in change and challenged us all to keep innovating. Vanessa Gardner, Chief Transformation Officer, spoke about the impact of transformation and highlighted how we have delivered £9 million worth of savings thanks to transformation work this year. Helen Farrington, Associate Director of Organisation Development, then talked about the work underway to create a culture of innovation and learning at CMFT as part of a national pilot on the impact of culture in the NHS.

We were delighted to welcome Dr Terri Porrett from the Academy of Fab NHS Stuff who spoke about the work of the Academy and how she was delighted to visit a progressive, forward thinking Trust. Unfortunately Roy Lilley was unable to join Terri at the event due to illness.

There were over 20 projects on display from across our divisions with the winner of a vote being surgery for Prehabilitation and Enhanced Recovery. Terri also gave NHS Fab Stuff's weekly 'Piccalilli' award to Esther Pears from Specialist Medicine.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who made the event such a success. You can follow our transformation work on Twitter at @CMFT_Transform.
