Trust apprentice highly commended at Electrical Industry Awards

Dan Moroney, 20, from Salford has recently received industry recognition as an electrical apprentice for Sodexo, the world's largest services company, at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dan was highly commended in the Electrical Apprentice of the Year category at the Electrical Industry Awards gala dinner, held last month at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.

Dan was nominated for the award by training provider, BEST (Building Engineering Services Training Ltd), for showing not only a dedicated and willing aptitude towards his training and work, but the time he has taken to mentor others, going above and beyond expectations.

Dan has worked for Sodexo as an apprentice electrical craftsman apprentice since January 2013, he has recently successfully attained his City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ diploma in electro technical technology and is now working towards his HNC.

Ian Roebuck, operations director for Sodexo at the Trust said: "We are incredibly proud of Dan's achievement.  Over his time with us he has developed into a confident, competent, personable and valued member of the team.  His support in helping others particularly at the TeenTech events has been great, a true ambassador for Sodexo and for the industry. He is a young star in the making and one that we want to keep."

As a regular exhibitor at TeenTech events, Sodexo has welcomed Dan's presence at a number of events across the country over the last year where he has helped teenagers understand the career opportunities available and helped develop hands-on exhibits and challenges to engage the youngsters.
