Upcoming industrial action

Our first priority is to ensure that patients who are currently receiving treatment in our hospitals and attending for emergency or urgent treatment, will be seen and treated safely and as quickly as possible. We have also put systems in place so that all women accessing our maternity services will be managed and cared for appropriately.

In anticipation of the upcoming industrial action, we are rescheduling all elective and out-patient activity from 26th-27th April. This step has been taken to ensure that the wide range of skills, expertise and experience of our frontline staff, including nurses, advanced nurse practitioners and consultants, are available for the most urgent cases during this period in order to ensure that we are able to provide services as safely as possible during the full walkout. We are also working with the wider health community, including GPs, walk-in centres and community care to agree where any further support can be provided for patients with less urgent health issues. Patients will be contacted directly if their care is to be rescheduled as a result.
