RMCH nurses treated to some well deserved relaxation

Hard working nurses at the country’s biggest children’s hospital have been treated to a well deserved break. The nurses at the new Royal Manchester Children’s enjoyed some rest and relaxation courtesy of the MacDonald Manchester Hotel and Spa. The hotel offered unlimited use of the gym and thermal facilities, one hour of treatments, and either breakfast or lunch to help the Trust thank our nursing staff for their hard work and support with the moves from Pendlebury and Booth Hall. Nurses were encouraged to enter their name in a prize draw and the lucky winners, Rachel Anderson, Michelle Herring, Nicola Carsley, Elizabeth Winterbottom, Kate Winstanley, and Stacy Shuttleworth, blww away the January cobwebs and put their feet up. Assistant Director of Nursing, Ian Crabtree, said: “We wanted to thank our nursing staff for their dedication not only throughout the moves, but also afterwards. Not only did they have to settle into their new surroundings, but they also ensured that our patients and their families were put at ease whilst maintaining our usual high standard of care. He added: “We would also like to thank the MacDonald Hotel and Spa for their generosity which has enabled us to say thank you to our staff in the way that they deserve.” Business Development Manager for the Macdonald Hotel and Spa, Adam Bell said: “The new children’s hospital is an amazing facility on the hotels doorstep and I’m honoured to be involved in rewarding the hard working nurses in our award winning spa.”
