Trust joins forces with Manchester Academic Health Science Centre

Greater Manchester has ambition to become one of the world leaders for health research, and as such Central Manchester University Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust has joined forces with six research-active NHS organisations in Greater Manchester and the University of Manchester to form the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC). This venture will offer great benefits to the health of the people of the region as well as contributing to enterprise, innovation and economic developments, by networking existing research activity and promoting new research partnerships. MAHSC is the first Academic Health Science Centre in the UK to cover the full spectrum of care – acute, specialist, mental health, primary care and commissioning.
