Work Begins on Building New Children’s Hospital

Graham Stringer, MP will be officially launching the beginning of the building work on the New Children’s Hospital on 9th September. The New Children’s Hospital is part of the major New Hospitals Development scheme at the Central Manchester and Manchester Children's University Hospitals NHS Trust (details below) and is due for completion in 2009. Graham Stringer, MP for the Blackley Constituency says: “It is a great honour to be invited to launch this major development for Children’s services within Manchester. This new building will provide state-of-the-art facilities for children within my constituency, Greater Manchester and further afield.” Peter W Mount, Chairman: “We are delighted that Graham has agreed to launch the beginning of our new Children’s Hospital. The new hospital will provide much needed new facilities to replace the ones currently provided by Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Booth Hall Children’s Hospital and some which are currently housed within Saint Mary’s. As an organisation we need to deliver a service capable of responding to current and future healthcare needs, which is why we have embarked on this major redevelopment project.”
