Chairman's Bulletin December 2012

Banner Pic

Welcome to December's e-bulletin which gives Governors news and information about our organisation and what is going on in the NHS.

It was good to see so many of you at my recent lunches where you were able to hear about the progress we have made in our key priorities and the challenges for the coming year. You were also provided with some details of the Greater Manchester 'Healthier Together' programme of work

I was delighted to hear Sodexo has completed its final round of assessments and interviews and have appointed five new apprentices sourced from the local community - two electricians, two mechanics and one joiner. They will begin in the New Year with inductions, site tours and specific training requirements. This brings a number of benefits, not just to us and the local community, but also builds the skills and needs for the future and grows local talent into all levels of trade, supervisory and senior management within Sodexo, further supporting our succession planning. This is a perfect example of the work our Corporate Citizenship working group encourages. one of five prizes of £100 to spend in their area of work. I recently drew this raffle and was delighted at the number of suggestions.

I would like to take this opportunity in my final bulletin of 2012 to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thank you for all your dedication, support and interest during the year.

If there is anything I can do to assist you in your role as a Governor, please contact me on 0161 276 8661 or at peter.mount@cmft.nhs.uk.
