Surgical and medical treatments of vitreous and retinal diseases: retinal detachment, diabetic eye disease, macular problems: eg: macular hole, macular pucker, age-related macular degeneration (including intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy)

Biography

Trained at Oxford University and the Royal London Hospital, qualifying in 1983. Specialist training in Newcastle, Cambridge (where he completed MD thesis) and the Royal Eye Hospital Manchester, where he performed a Vitreoretinal Fellowship under Prof David McLeod. Appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with specialist interest in Vitreoretinal Surgery in 1997, after 2 years as Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon in Oslo, Norway. Administrative Director Vitreoretinal Unit Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, and organiser Vitreoretinal Fellowship programme since 2000. Council member North of England Ophthalmological Society.
