Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Honorary Lecturer

Miss Bhan joined Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2015 as Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with specialist interest in Uveitis/Ocular Inflammatory Disease and Medical Retina. She completed advanced subspecialisation felllowship in Uveitis/Ocular Inflammatory Disease and Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London (2013-2015) with Carlos Pavesio; Prof Sue Lightman and Adnan Tufail. Preceding advanced subspecialisation , she completed fellowships in: Public Health 2008-9 (NHS Leeds/Leeds University: Andy Cassels-Brown/Jon Fear/Prof Darren Shickle) Uveitis/Retina 2009-10 (Yorkshire Deanery) Ocular Oncology 2010 (Sheffield: Paul Rundle/Prof Ian Rennie) Medical Retina 2012 (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada: Alan Cruess) Miss Bhan graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School and undertook core Ophthalmology training at the Yorkshire Deanery. Miss Bhan attained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Leeds and undertook a Masters degree in Education at the University of Leeds which she was awarded with distinction in 2012. She is Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester and has responsibility for Undergraduate teaching and learning. Miss Bhan's research interests are in Ocular Inflammatory Disease, Retina, Ocular Imaging and Interprofessional Learning and Practice. She is a member of Birdshot Uveitis Society.
