Miss Laura Steeples was appointed a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2016. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006 and completed higher specialist training in North Western deanery. She was awarded the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Harcourt Medal in 2014 for the highest mark in the final fellowship examinations. She has completed two years of sub-speciality fellowships in uveitis and medical retina at MREH and Bristol Eye Hospital. She has been an investigator in several national and international clinical trials. She has published over 20 publications in peer reviewed journals and presented at many national and international meetings. She is active in research in uveitis and is involved in national and international uveitis projects. She has an interest in patient safety and is a member of the RCOphth Quality and Safety group.
