Ocular Prosthetics

SERVICE DESCRIPTION:

The main focus of the Ocular Prosthetics Department is to prescribe, design, fabricate and clinically fit custom made ocular and facial prostheses.

A prosthesis is an artificial extension that replaces a missing body part.

In the Ocular Prosthetics Department, we provide a full rehabilitative service for patients who have undergone major surgery for trauma, disease and malignancy by means of highly specialised skills.

We also provide pre and post-operative prosthetic counselling to all patients.

Our team of highly experienced staff also provides advice on prosthetic matters to GPs, district nurses and to some Oculoplastic surgical teams across the UK.
