Radiology

Service Description:

The Clinical Radiology service for The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is based in the main X-ray department at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Over 200,000 investigations are undertaken by the Trust each year providing diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic services.

A comprehensive range of investigations are provided by a specialist team who are all committed to a high level of patient care.

Our clinical staff consists of radiologists, radiographers, nurses and clinical support staff. A dedicated administration team provide essential non-clinical support.

The Clinical Radiology Department is a major training centre for radiologists, radiographers and sonographers.

A Picture Archive Communication System (PACS) has also been implemented across the whole Trust which allows instant access to digital images 24 hours a day.

HOURS:

The department is open from 09:00am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday. Admission is by referral from staff within other departments within the Trust and from General Practitioners.

Please note all diagnostic tests have a waiting time of under six weeks.
