Lung

The lung cancer nurse specialists work  along side the chest physicians and oncologists to support lung cancer patients and their families.  Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS FT  have two lung cancer specialist nurses who offer a service here at Manchester Royal Infirmary and a specialist lung nurse who provides support to patients & families based at Trafford.

The aim of the role is to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients throughout the disease pathway.  The lung cancer nurse can offer expert advice on disease management and symptom control as well as giving practical advice, and information. The lung cancer nurses provide a vital link for patients between hospitals specialist centres and primary care.
