SALT (Speech and Lanuage Therapy)

Service Description

Speech and language therapy is provided at Manchester Royal Infirmary and to patients in their own homes. We accept referrals for people aged over 16 with acquired speech, voice, communication and/or swallowing difficulties who live in the central Manchester area. Qualified and registered speech and language therapists deliver the service in accordance with their professional body the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Our speech therapists specialise in stroke rehabilitation, swallowing difficulties, critical care, palliative care, head and neck surgery, neuro-rehabilitation, elderly care, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, voice disorders and stammering.
