Research and Innovation

The Transplantation Laboratory participates in innovative research and innovation relevant to the clinical services provided to ensure that we continually improve our service provision in line with the current clinical evidence base.  Projects are closely tailored to local clinical practice to ensure the most appropriate services are provided for the patients.

The Transplantation Laboratory is part of a network, which is cross-directorate and is known as the Manchester Institute of Nephrology and Transplantation (MINT).  MINT is a multi-professional body of physicians, surgeons, nursing staff, scientists, other professions allied to medicine and managers. Its aim is to improve and develop the research and educational activities of the Haemopoietic stem cell transplantation, nephrology and dialysis services to achieve the best possible care for transplant patients.
