Trained at the Royal Free Hospital, qualifying in 1977. Trained urologically at the Institute of Urology and the Portsmouth Hospitals. Consultant at MRI since 1988. Set up and run tertiary services for the North-west in complex andrology, male factor infertility and urethral reconstruction. Service manager for 15 years, past Hospital Dean and lead for SpR training at MRI. Active researcher into organisational processes in the Health Service and andrological problems. Previous member of the Council of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), and the BAUS Section of Andrology, and currently chairman of the national Intercollegiate Examination Board in Urology.
