Access and Visiting

Visiting hours vary depending on the area of the hospital. Please see the information within the relevant area you wish to visit:

Please note that in line with the Trust's policy for infection control, flowers are not allowed.

If you have any coughs, colds or sneezes and signs of illness such as vomiting, please do not come to visit our unit, as we want to minimise the risk of spreading any illness to our mums and babies.

 

Delivery Unit:

Women in labour:

Open visiting for their birth partners only. This means a maximum of two visitors in total, and these individuals should ideally be decided on before your admission.

For women who have delivered their baby, including those requiring high dependency care, and women who are not in labour but are on the Delivery Unit:

10.00 am - 8.00 pm (partners only)

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm and 8.00 pm (other visitors, but numbers are restricted to two at the bedside at any one time).

Midwifery Led Unit:

Women in labour:

Open visiting for birth partners only.  This means a maximum of two visitors in total and these individuals should ideally be decided on before your admission.

Induction of Labour Bay:

Partners only:

10.00 am - 8.00 pm

Other visitors:

 

Numbers are restricted to two at the bedside at any one time.

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm.

 

We regret that there are no facilities for partners to stay overnight on the Induction of Labour bay.

Birth Centre at Salford:

Women in Labour:

Open visiting for birth partners only. This means a maximum of two visitors in total, and these individuals should ideally be decided on before your admission.

Ward 65 (Antenatal ward):

Your partner or an alternative birthing partner (one person only)

10.00 am - 8.00 pm

All other visitors

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm

Ward 66 (Postnatal ward):

Your partner or an alternative birthing partner (one person only)

10.00 am - 8.00 pm

All other visitors

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm

Ward 47b (Postnatal ward):

Your partner or an alternative birthing partner (one person only)

10.00 am - 8.00 pm

All other visitors

2.00 pm - 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm - 8.00 pm

Neonatal Unit:

We encourage you to visit your baby as frequently as possible and to stay as long as you are able to.

 

Other relatives and friends that come to see your baby must be with you or they will not be allowed onto the Unit. Only two people at a time are allowed to visit your baby at the cot side (one parent and one visitor) as the rooms can get very busy.

 

The only time we ask you not to visit is during the doctors' ward round, which are:

 

Intensive care rooms 4 and 5:    9.00 am - 11.30 am

All other rooms:                        9.00 am - 11.00 am
