FMU Complex Multiple Pregnancy Clinic

Dr Gillian Stephen, Consultant Obstetrician and FMU specialist midwives.



FMU, Ultrasound Department, Saint Mary's Hospital, Manchester.


Conditions dealt with:

  • Growth disorders in monochorionic twin pregnancy.
  • Monitoring of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.
  • Follow up after placental laser ablation for twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.
  • Care of monoamniotic twins and high order multiple pregnancies (triplets and quadruplets).


What is offered to patients?

Patients receive detailed anatomy assessment, growth assessment, Doppler studies and counselling.


When is the clinic held?

The clinic is held every Wednesday morning.


How can I access this service?

Patients are referred to this clinic via the Fetal Medicine Unit.
